Old School Square offers a variety of arts opportunities for adults and children. Art and photography classes and workshops are offered during fall, winter, spring and summer sessions and take place in the Crest Theatre building (upstairs studios and classrooms) unless otherwise noted. January 3-6 - KICKIN' ARTS WINTER CAMP

Camp fee: $185
This FUN-FILLED week will be themed "Beyond the Sea" and include music, drumming, acting, dance and visual art projects. Campers will work on a sea-themed short play during the week and showcase it to their parents and friends on the final day of camp. All sessions are age-appropriate and taught by professional actors, directors, musicians and art teachers.
Art and Photography Instructors
Cindee Brady has over 25 years of teaching experience in acrylic and oil painting. She has taught in schools, at seminars and has given private lessons. She has also served as a regional instructor and demonstrator for two major art paint manufacturers. She studied fine arts at the University of Houston.
Betsey Chesler is a self taught Fine Art Photographer and Photojournalist. Her passion resonates between the two as she strives to bring a higher level of social awareness through her work, bringing to light the needs of those worldwide. Her work encompasses landscape, still life, travel, abstracts and her infrared series. Betsey has worked as a photographer for print media, published in photography publications and has exhibited her works through out the U.S
Karen Eskesen has a B.A. in Fine Arts from Colby College, Waterville, Maine. She also studied at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. For the past six years Karen has taught both adult and children's classes at Old School Square. She also teaches for Bonnet House and Girl Scouts of Broward County. (Fall and Winter sessions only)
Donna Steger Fuller has a BA in Art from University of Florida and an MA in Anthropology from Florida Atlantic University. She has done extensive commercial work for Motorola, Office Depot, PBIA and others, as well as, limited edition posters for the City of Boca Raton and Hilton Hotels. Donna has also executed many commissions of classical reproductions of Old Masters, such as, Rubens, Vermeer, and Guardi to name a few. Donna is a Signature Member of The International Acrylic Society.
Carla Golembe is an award acrylic winning painter, gouache illustrator, art instructor and author. Her paintings are shown in galleries throughout the United States and are included in many corporate and private collections. She has illustrated more than 20 picture books. Other illustration work includes educational projects, greeting cards, posters, magazine work, book covers and hand done art for websites. She has received awards from the New York Times, Parent's Choice and The American Folklore Society, NSTA/CBC, Jerry’s Artarama and PMA as well as others. Carla has taught art and creative writing on the college level and to adults for over 30 years. She has participated in five Animals on Parade public art projects.
Genia Howard has a Masters in Art Education from FAU and achieved National Board Certification in art in 2001. Now retired, most of her teaching career was at the high school level, especially with the International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement programs. Additionaly, she has taught kindergarten, middle school, and adult education. Proficient in water media, oil and acrylic, she is equally adept at using traditional drawing media and experimental media.
Sharon Koskoff is a professional muralist and designer widely recognized in South Florida for her projects with children and diverse audiences. She is a cum laude graduate in fine arts from Brooklyn College, and holds an additional degree from New York School of Interior Design. She has taught at the Montgomery Armory Art Center, Boca Raton Museum of Art, and the Norton Museum of Art.
Jim LaRocco has studied for several years under Jack Wild. Jim’s work has garnered increasing recognition and has been displayed by the Sony World Photography Awards Organization, The Boca Raton Museum of Art, the Palm Beach Photographic Center, The Palm Beach Post, Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, Boynton Beach Arts Council, Highland Beach Library and other venues. He is currently teaching in the Old School Square Fine Art Photography program. "My aspiration is creative photography where one sees character, irony or symbolism in what, on the surface, might seem mundane."
Sid Delmar Leach graduated from the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Fontainebleau, France. He has a B.S. in Art from BYU and is the author of two books on perspective and pencil drawing published by McGraw Hill. He taught drawing for seven years at FIDM San Francisco and has lived, drawn and painted in France and studied with Ted Seth Jones. Mr. Leach's drawings and paintings are held in private international collections.
Russell Levine attended Emerson College majoring in communications then went on to manage famous rock bands. He is considered an expert in the technical use of a camera. Today he can be found mostly in the Everglades photographing the ever-changing environment.
Daniel McGavin holds a Ph.D. and is a full professor of English at Palm Beach State College. Dan has a long history of working in the arts. He has studied for a number of years at Oxbow, The Chicago Art Institute's Summer School for the Arts in a variety of disciplines from drawing and painting to metal work. Dan has had a lifelong interest in photography and has studied with professional and internationally recognized artistic photographers. He has exhibited at the Oxbow Summer School for the arts, been selected for juried shows at the Boca Raton Museum of art, has been published in Magnolia, a Florida Journal of Fine Arts, and is represented by two art galleries in Michigan, where he spends his summers.
Patricia Maguire was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Paricia has A B.S. in Studio Art from Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Graduate Studies in Art and animation, Syracuse University, M.B.A. Florida Atlantic University. She has won numerous awards for work in Acrylics, Pastel and Enamels.
Sherry O'Neil has been drawing and painting most of her life. She received her BA degree in 1991 and spent several years studying with artists across the country. She has developed her own distinctive style, exhibits her work nationally and internationally and is represented by Onessimo Fine Art Gallery in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. As a signature member of ISEA, NAWA, FWS and NCS, Sherry has won numerous awards. She has spent the last 7 years teaching art locally and conducting workshops around the country.
Ralph Papa has been drawing and painting since early childhood. He graduated from Suffolk Community College and studied Architecture and Art at CCNY, at Queens College and the Students Art League in New York City. Papa paints people, faces, and pleine air landscapes. His works are in private collections in the United States and Canada.
Charles Passarelli retired from commercial illustration where he had done illustrations for Coke, Air Canada, Bell South, I.B.M., G.E., and many others. Charles has taught watercolor classes at Old School Square for six years. His paintings are in private collections from London to Los Altos, California. (Fall and Winter sessions only)
Norman Robbins has been a photographer for over 40 years and a computer consultant for more than 20 years. His photographs have been selected for inclusion in books, magazines, gallery showings for juried competitions and websites. He has done commercial work for business, charity events, and affairs. For the past few years, Norman has been doing private tutoring for both photography and Photoshop.
Gwenn Seuling has a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in new York City and an M.A.Ed. in Printmaking from Florida Atlantic University. Her book How to draw Comics was published by Longmeadow Press. She exhibits her work throughout South Florida and her illustrations and comics have been published in books and magazines in France and America. She currently teaches art at Seminole Ridge High School and is an Adjunct Professor at Northwood University where she teaches Art Appreciation.
Stan Sternbach is a Pratt Institute graduate who has studied at the New York School of Social Research. As an Art Director he has won awards in "The Illustrators USA" and the Art Directors Annual. Stan is a multi-faceted, multi-media artist. His extensive world travel as a product developer and designer in the Home Furnishing Industry has had an important impact on his art works.
Julia Turk has developed a personal style by juxtaposing geometrical forms against natural human and animal figures in whimsical and thought-provoking compositions. Her education includes programs in portrait painting, drawing, sculpture and photography from schools including the University of Rhode Island, London School of Printing (UK), St. Martin's School of Art (UK), Ruskin School of Art at Oxford University (UK), Leighton Studio (CA), and West Valley Occupational College (CA). She has taught in Washington, New Mexico, Rhode Island and Utah.
Gustave Wander has studied watercolor paintings at the Art Students League, The School of Visual Arts and has been a member of the Salmugundi Club in New York. He has studied watercolor painting with Edgar Whitney, Robert Wood and Ferinand Petrie all highly regarded watercolorists. He has received over fifty awards for his work as a watercolorist.
Jack Wild majored in photography at the Rhode Island School of Design and has a strong undergraduate background in graphic and industrial art. He assisted two New York photographers before starting his professional career in the mid 1960's. Since then, he has photographed everything from street people to high fashion, peanuts to elephants, and model planes to the Concorde. Jack's fine art work has been exhibited and collected world-wide, with two pieces recently incorporated into the permanent collection of the Boca Raton Museum of Art.
