Old School Square Cultural Arts Center is a unique gathering place for corporate, private, media and community events as well as a wide variety of arts opportunities.

Located in charming downtown Delray Beach, Old School Square is just one mile from the ocean and walking distance to specialty shopping, fine dining, luxury and historic hotel accommodations. Delray Beach is convenient to Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Palm Beach International Airports.

Old School Square is committed to excellence in the services we provide. With nine meeting rooms surrounding our 323-seat performing arts theatre along with the gymnasium, grounds and outdoor Entertainment Pavilion, Old School Square can accommodate intimate to grand gatherings. A unique service we can offer is the integration of visual and performing arts opportunities to further customize your event.

A limited number of tables and chairs are included with most rentals; renters may bring in their own tables and chairs. A preferred vendor list is available, though renters are not required to use it. Due to the historic nature of the facilities, certain restrictions apply.

A Historic Preservation fee of $1.00 per person in attendance is charged for all rentals, performances, and tours. Fees are used for preservation and maintenance of the historic buildings comprising the Cultural Arts Center. Grounds and Pavilion events are excluded.

Crest Theatre (auditorium)

Crest Theatre

  • State-of-the-art with multi-media capabilities
  • 323 seats, including balcony
  • Dressing rooms and lounge areas backstage
  • Stage is 48’ (w) x 40’6” (d) x 14’ (proscenium height)
  • Rental Rate: $1,500 per day plus sales tax; $1,500 security deposit; stage technicians bill in addition to rental at $25 per hour per technician (minimum 3 techs for 4 hours); house manager and volunteer ushers included; box office facilities available at additional cost. Certificate of Liability Insurance required.

Ocean Breeze Room

Ocean Breeze Room

  • Located in the Crest Theatre building
  • Used for ceremonies, receptions and meetings
  • Accommodates up to 100 people theatre-style or up to 60 at tables
  • 21’ x 55’
  • Equipped with overhead video projector and sound system
  • Full kitchen facility
  • Rental Rates: $750 per day plus sales tax for catered party/social event; $500 per day for meeting or seminar; security deposit equivalent to rental; includes table and chair set up for up to 60 people; linens not included

Frances Bourque Library, Lettie McNeill Music Room, Classrooms

Library

  • Located in the Crest Theatre building
  • Used for meetings, workshops and classes
  • Each room accommodates up to 30 people, comfortably
  • Average classroom size is 21’ x 26’
  • The library and music room are adjoining and are located downstairs
  • Four classrooms and two art studios are located upstairs
  • The music room and classroom #2 have screen available
  • Rental Rates: $200 per day per room plus sales tax; $300 per day plus sales tax for catered party/social event; security deposit equivalent to rental; includes table and chair set up conference, classroom or lecture style; linens not included

Vintage Gymnasium

1926 Gymnasium

  • Located adjacent to the Crest Theatre building
  • Used for wedding receptions, private parties, craft shows, trade shows
  • Accommodates up to 225 at tables or 300 theatre-style
  • Room is 40’ x 70’
  • 12’ x 28’ stage
  • Balcony for additional seating or displays
  • Adjacent food preparation/load-in area
  • Former locker rooms were converted to beautifully appointed restrooms
  • High ceilings with rafters provide great opportunities for creative design
  • Rental Rate: $1,400 per day plus sales tax; $1,400 security deposit; includes table and chair set up for up to 250 people; children’s events restricted to maximum of 150 people; linens not included.  Additional balcony set up fee is $150 plus sales tax.

Cornell Museum of Art & American Culture

Cornell Museum of Art & History

  • Located to the south of the Crest Theatre building
  • Connected to the Crest Theatre building’s Ocean Breeze Room and portico by a covered loggia
  • Available on a limited and restricted basis
  • Accommodates rentals of up to 150 people
  • Includes atrium area on both floors
  • Three gallery spaces on first floor
  • Three gallery spaces on second floor
  • Rental Rates:
    For the Cornell Museum - $2,500 per day plus sales tax; $2,500 security deposit
    For the Angelique Tea Room (located in the museum building) - $350 per day plus sales tax for meeting/seminar; $500 per day plus sales tax for catered party/social event; security deposit equivalent to rental; includes tables and chairs for up to 40 people; galley kitchen; linens not included.

Entertainment Pavilion and Grounds

Entertainment Pavilion

  • Built in 2002 the Pavilion is located on the center grounds
  • Used for all types of performances, films and festivals
  • Accommodates enclosed tented events for up to 1,000; gated concerts for up to 3,500; or open multi-day festivals
  • State-of-the-art performance stage with large backstage area
  • Two small dressing rooms
  • Concession building with restrooms and covered walkways (on two sides) surround an open, grassy area
  • Pavilion Fees:
    Small Event Package - Rental rate $2,000 per day plus sales tax; $1,500 security deposit; minimum 3 technicians at $25/hour/technician; $75 per day maintenance/supply fee; includes backstage area and dressing rooms, concert lighting (general lighting cue), sound (up to 2 channels input), concession and event restrooms.
    Large Event Package with Center and West Grounds - Rental rate $3,500 per day plus sales tax; $2,000 security deposit; minimum 4 technicians at $25/hour/technician; $100 per day maintenance/supply fee; includes backstage area and dressing rooms, full lighting and sound (up to 24 channels input), concession and event restrooms.
    Large Event Package with Full Grounds (excluding SW quadrant) - Rental rate $3,500 per day plus sales tax; $2500 security deposit; minimum 4 technicians at $25/hour/technician; $150 per day maintenance/supply fee; includes backstage area and dressing rooms, full lighting and sound, concession and event restrooms.
  • Loggia Only (covered walkway - for wedding ceremonies) - Rental rate $200 plus sales tax; chairs not included.

Grounds Only

Grounds at Old School Square

  • The center sits on four acres
  • Usable grounds include north end, west side, center grounds, south end
  • Covered loggias (walkways) are located along the west side between the Crest Theatre and Cornell Museum and along the south side of the concession building.
  • The Cornell Museum entrance (south end) includes brick walkway
  • Rental Rates:
    Center Grounds - $1000 per day plus sales tax; $1,000 security deposit; $75 per day maintenance/supply fee; includes concession and restroom area; power available.
    All Quadrants (non-fenced) - $1500 per day plus sales tax; $1500 security deposit; $100 per day maintenance/supply fee; includes concession and restrooms; additional power fee.
    Wedding Ceremony - $150 plus sales tax, chairs are not included.
