January 15 - Tommy Tune

A 2003 National Medal of Arts recipient, winner of nine Tony awards and celebrated member of Broadway's Theatre Hall of Fame, Tommy Tune is considered a major force in the development of Broadway musicals.  Film credits include Hello Dolly with Barbra Streisand, and he has wowed Las Vegas audiences with his MGM Grand Hotel show, EFX.  Tommy Tune continues to develop work for the theatre, and he is an accomplished artist.

February 19 - Brian Stafford

This former director of the United States Secret Service protected Presidents Nixon through Clinton and was responsible for supervising several National Security events including the 2002 Winter Olympics and Super Bowl XXXVI.  He joined the Secret Service staff in 1971 and was the Assistant Director of the Office of Protective Operations and a special agent in charge of the Presidential Protective Division.  Since retiring, Stafford has joined numerous boards and charitable causes and recently received the Adam Walsh Rainbow Award presented by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

March 12 - Michael Gates Gill

At age 63, Gill was downsized in his job as a top executive, saw his marriage disintegrate and was diagnosed with a brain tumor.  He found a renewed sense of purpose behind the counter of Starbucks.  His highly acclaimed memoir, How Starbucks Saved My Life debuted on The New York Times Best Seller list and was named one of the top 12 books of 2007 by the Wall Street Journal.  His story will soon be released as a major motion picture starring Tom Hanks.  Gill's candid account of his experience deals with many hot-button issues in our country, including classism, racism, ageism and corporate accountability.

April 2 - Lorraine Salem Tufts

Dubbed "the official photographer of the National Parks System," Tufts is an author and highly acclaimed wildlife photographer and is internationally recognized for her three photographic essays, Secrets in the Grand Canyon, Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, Animals in Action: A Book for Young Readers and her recently enlarged version of her first (award-winning) book, Secrets in Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks.  Locally, Ms. Tufts contributes her time to the board of the Author R. Marshall Foundation and the restoration of the Florida Everglades.
